Also known as the Pyxie frog. Only a baby now, here is my elusive male Pyxie

The male Pyxies can grow up to 10" and even feed on rats, while females only reach about half that size. I recently bought 2 baby Pyxies in hopes that one would be a male, and I got lucky.......I was due

Yea, they sure change alot from that cute little quarter sized baby frog into a big fat adult

This is my male Albino Pacman frog. Unfortunately the males are the smaller sex with these guys but he's still pretty awesome.

My dad used to have an ornate horned frog that he had to feed with forceps. That thing would eat ANYTHING that moved, including a finger!

How do you know this is a male if you don’t mind me asking... I have a female and am also in the hunt for a male, well I have not really even started to look yet, but I will at the next show. I was told that the line down the center of the back was a good clue to that they are females.

How do you know this is a male if you don’t mind me asking... I have a female and am also in the hunt for a male, well I have not really even started to look yet, but I will at the next show. I was told that the line down the center of the back was a good clue to that they are females.

They're impossible to sex as babies, as adults its very easy. The males reach 10" females about 5" and the males have way bigger skulls. I bought mine as a "probable" male, so there were no guarantees. The way I know my little guy is male is because I've caught him croaking, only the males croak. As for the line down their back, all Pyxies have that, it'll eventually fade or go away. Tracking down a male is tough, it took me 3 tries before I finally got one. I cant wait for him to get bigger, they are so impressive! (PM sent Vegas Chad)

LOL, they're great. I was trying to measure my Pyxie the other day with a tape measurer and he kept attacking it

I'm sure a full frown male could eat 100 crickets, but I don't think thats necessary. Adults only eat twice a week max, and I never heard of anyone feeding them 100 of anything at one sitting?
