What is the 1" green plastic mesh for?

Its a little weird, but growing on me.

I have a question about monthly cleaning.
As I wired all of my different vines and greenery into place I could not escape the thought that in a month I will be taking all of that apart for the monthly cleaning. I also have a nice Ficus in my 2x2x4 cage.

I have some thin white terry-cloth shop towels in the bottom of the cage that will get swapped as needed (probably weekly or every couple days).

I read on this forum that a person should completly dismantle and sanitize every month. I thought I might cheat by getting one of those portable hand steamers and simply steam everything in place (not dismantle). Zippy and the ficus tree can hang out in the house while I steam-clean the cage on the driveway.

Aslo, I noticed your feeder cup fairly high, I placed mine down low at the left hand corner where the door opens. I thought I would cup feed there by the door and later transition into a little hand feeding. I want Zippy to come to the door to eat, not hide in the back under a bush. Is there a problem with the positioning of my feeder cup? I suppose the ultimate judge will be Zippy, but I wondered if they will only eat up high. In that case, a low placed feeder cup might not be a good idea.

The green plastic fencing is to keep the chameleons nail from getting stuck in the screen and loosing the nail and a possible infection.

I take my cage outside without the chameleon and live plant and spray down the cage and everything in it with peroxide and then rinse several time and allow to dry in the sun. I also repot my live plant every 3 to 4 months.

My cham likes the feeder cup high by her basking branch.
