Love for Walker

i'm so sorry to hear about fenix! he will forever be immortalized as a christmas elf :) which is when i first saw him and walker. i'm sure he misses you too. cheers to the new cage!

Thanks, Lisa!

The plan is to find a nice photo (jungle, vines, rain forest, waterfall, etc) to laminate and stick on that wood. It'll serve two purposes: aesthetics and minimize water splashing onto the wall behind the enclosure. If this doesn't sound like a good idea, let me know.

The vine that he's on is one of those 6ft bendy vines that you get from the pet shop. I get them for like 2.99 each and use them in all of my enclosures... ;)

Where do you get them for $2.99? I only see them for like 7-10 bucks!

Here are some pics of the full enclosure and dimensions.

The total height is 76" tall. The habitable portion is 48"h x 32w x 18d.

This is the same bookcase that I was working on last year and just never put to use. I will complete this one for Walker at some point.

As you can see, I chose to build one big swinging door. I like it.

The back and sides are regular window screen, but I messed up on the door. I accidentally got the fiberglass screen. I don't imagine too many crix getting on the door, so hopefully it'll last.

is the top solid? what are you going to do on the bottom for drainage?

The top is screened with cross bars underneath for support. They are clearly illustrated in the very 1st two photos back on page 1. ;)

You'll notice on the bottom a picture. Underneath the picture are two holes that have been cut out (one for a pot to sit in and one for drainage). I haven't quite figured this part out. I'll cut the hole in the photo for the pot to sit in and then I need to find a way to prop the bottom to allow for drainage to enter the drain hole. I got to fancy with this and didn't think it all the way thru...

I'll figure it out. Let me take a pic to show you what imma talking about. Be right back. lol

Edit***

Ok. Here's the bottom:

I really like the big swinging door! I really like the entire cage. I wouldn't mind being a chameleon of yours if I got to live there. :D

Fresh shots from today. We had sun in San Antone! :) Walker's looking rather drab. Hopefully he'll bust out a new wardrobe soon! He had best keep the blues!! :p
