Lost nails

Hello. So I have an about I think 10-12 month female veiled chameleon. She's doing well and all, but whenever she goes to lay her eggs, some of her nails break off. I don't know if it's normal or not, but it's a little concerning. So far, she lost three nails, both are on her front feet(two lost on her left, one on her right). Her nails are also pretty long in general, so I wasn't sure if I should trim them just a little bit since they are starting to curve horizontally instead of vertically(it's only with some of them, the rest are looking alright). I've read in multiple threads not to trim their nails, but I dunno. I just don't want her to break off another nail. Thank you!

I wouldnt trim them. But you could have her walk on really hard things like bamboo etc. Anything to wear them down. Plants and soft pine dowel rods dont do the trick.
