Loss of appetite

Hi,

Rusty my male Veiled is about 9 months old. For the past two weeks or so he has started to eat alot less than he normally did. He started by leaving crickets in his cup, then only eating every second day. Now he wont eat anything but superworms. (I offer crickets, silk worms and supers daily) He is still eating, but alot less and with less enthusiasum...he would run for crickets before! I am hoping it is just the change of seasons or he is maturing and requires less food. Otherwise he seems perfectly fine.
Any ideas?

I wouldn't worry too much. As chameleons start to reach full size, normally their appetite does decrease slightly. Just remember to change out your UVB bulb every 6 months even if it is still shining, it may not be putting out the needed wavelength.

Thanks. His enclosure is 6' tall x 4' wide x 2' deep. He is as active as always and his bowel movements are the same yet smaller and on the days he eats.

Great...nice sized cage too...

I think the others are right on it....just keep a close eye on your cham...A pattern should begin to emerge and then you can adjust your feed acordingly.

Hope that helps
