looking for good info.

i resonantly had a buddy give me his pair of jackson chams and i breed tortoises during the summer months so i thought i might try my hand at breeding these beautiful guys aswell. i have now one male and one female ive done some research but id like to know how you guys on here breed them and if there are any good sold references you guys can point me in the direction of. please and thank you :D

Are you new to chameleon keeping? If so, I would learn all about keeping a healthy chameleon first, for atleast a year or so and then think about breeding. Just my opinion. Also, do not house them together. They need separate cages in case you are unaware of this. No offense, but because you have bred tortoises, does not make you automatically ready to breed chameleons.

i know to keep them separate im not planing on breeding them anytime soon. i have a veiled cham that i raised from a baby and i had a panther but i sold him to a breeder at repticon a few years ago but i know that jacksons can be a more sensitive and that they need high humidity and cooler temps because they are from mountains with lots of cloud cover and so on. i just want some tips and references so i can research well enough so when it comes to that time i can go about it in the best possible way.

Oh that is great that you are doing your research. I am sure someone on here will be able to help you. Why don't you change your thread title(if you can) to something like "Help with Breeding Jackson's Chameleons". Maybe you will get a better response. Good luck!

Jackson's are touchy - not for the faint of heart - was your buddy keeping them together? - You may need to do some fast researching - My baby Jackson came from a girl who had gotten the Mom at petco for her husband for Christmas- My baby was born in May and was quite a shock. Mine was the only one who made it, from what I've heard - I went with the info I got here -

they had their on cage but he did let them free roam the room on some vines he had set up. and i actually got on here because i saw his video and ive got my notes started. im keeping my fingers crossed that she is not already but ive on my nose to the grind with my research. and thank you for responding. its much appreciated. :)

I had found this vid/ a while ago- its pretty good I think - I have a female in now for a "date" , she is not mine - so far....... she hates my male - lol but I thought this was pretty good for research - that is good you are learning first - the babies can be a bit tricky if you are not ready for them , many get "surprise" clutches
