So my 3k hour 65watt home depot basking lights are only lasting about 1000 hours. What does everyone recomend? Halogen? I dont want to spend $10 on spot light with a lizard on the box.

I use the 50 PAR20 Halogen Flood lamps. They work great. Less energy and high heat output.
Do NOT buy the spot version, you will burn your animal.

Define spot. A par20 is a flood shape, 25-40 degrees.

The lamps are sold as "flood" and "spot" don't buy the lamps in a box that say "spot".
