Long Fibered Sphagnum Moss for keeping eggs

I have seen where some people on the forum use sphagnum moss for gestating eggs. I am out of vermiculite but have the long fibered sphagnum moss. Is this the stuff to use? My lady surprised me and is laying after 20 days. WOW

She did a lot of mating over 2 days - I hope these are fertile eggs.

I liked the idea about sphagnum moss. Others use it for other herps so i dont know why you couldnt use it. I used it on our first eggs than switched to vermiculite because it's what everyone in chams uses.

You soak it in warm water. Than squeeze it as dry as possible in a little ball. Then roll the ball in a paper towel to absorb a little more moisture.

I have a big bag of the vermiculite and will be happy to share. I got it at the Home Depot. I'm going to West Palm Sat. email me if you would like to meet somewhere and get some.

Thanks for the offer but I can buy some of that stuff that I always use. I may try the spagum moss just because I have it.
