LLL reptile cages

Going down to the store in Menifee tomorrow to get an XL cage for Piko. I can't stand watching her sitting with her nose in the top corner, and climbing on the mesh screen any longer. It's driving me crazy! She wants out all the time, every time I go out on the patio. She just turned one year old, and I was hoping she could wait until the Reptile show in July, but apparently not!
I haven't used this brand of cage before, but heard they're pretty good. Has anyone else used them, or have advice? Also, anyone else have a Jackson's that just wants out all the time, or is it just mine?
On another note, I thought she wasn't eating, but as I just saw her pooping for what seemed like the longest time, she must be getting something!

I had one as my first cage for my Jax in the 24x24x48 size. It was actually a nice cage, but spend the extra to get the drainage tray that sirs under the cage, not the substrate tray that fits inside the cage.

I wish they had a handle of some sort for the door tho. It can be a pain to get it open. I ended up going to the hardware store and buying a tiny black cabinet handle to glue on it.

Okay, I'll jump in just for this…Dragon Strand cages have door handles on both the main door and the trap door. I added those because I was driven crazy trying to open the standard screen cage without the door handles!!

I make it a point not to be commercial in my posts here, but had to chime in on the door handle issue!

I have 2 LLL cages. While they serve their purpose, I just can't help but DESPISE the "no handle" conundrum, and I dislike the locks. I also get very annoyed with the 24x24x48 front-top panel (above the door). I always hit my hand on it or bonk my chameleon's head on it while taking him out. I understand it's so that flying insects won't escape, but for those who don't feed flying insects, is it really worth it?
I also use Reptibreeze (which I personally find better then LLL because of the locks and large door) and DIY which I find MOST superior. I really like the locks, overall look AND the handle.
That being said, if shipping wasn't so expensive in to canada, I would probably give the Dragon Strand enclosures a go because they look awesome. But like I said, I sadly cannot afford the enclosure plus the USA to Canada shipping and taxes fees.

hey, I really like the drainage idea for the LLL cages. could you use those also for DIY cages?

If they're the same dimensions, yes! :) They work for the reptibreezes as well as our generic screen cages.

I'm not sure when you folks bought your cages but all the LLL cages I have purchased recently have had handles in them.

Not for nothing but DIY cages rust, big time. I am taking one apart right now to re-screen it due to all the previous screen rusting out. Now I bought these a few years ago and they may have changed to aluminum screen since then. If so great, I hope they changed their locks at the same time because those were terrible as well.

I have been looking at the Dragon Strand cages for my next purchase but at this point I might just build my own again. You can get the same material from any good window place that does screening.

So after doublechecking a few things, it turns out the water and substrate trays are designed for our generic screen cages specifically. A lot of times the sizing may not be quite the same for other brands, so I just wanted to give you folks a heads up. :)
