Im in Northern California in the San Francisco area and i was wondering what u guys think would be best type of enclosures for Montane species?

Would the exoterra be better due to retaining humidity? Will that be enough air flow? I keep panthers now in screen enclosures but i cover 3 sides of them to help retain moisture even tho its still not exactly the same as a glass enclosure.

Will the exoterra hold too much heat during our summers? How about if i put a fan blowing in the direction of the enclosure?

For those that do use Exoterras, how often do u mist so that u have a "dry out" period and not get stagnant or stale air and moisture?

Im trying to figure out what u guys think may be best... Just trying to give the best for my animals

If your in San Francisco your not going to have a problem with heat for montane species it may actually become to cold during the winter for some to be kept outside. I think year round temperatures are going to be OK for the majority of the time for the montane species if your going to keep them outside. Temperatures in the 50F to 80F range and if you keep your plants in your screen cages well watered is going to have great humidity for your chameleons too. However if your keeping Panthers and Veileds this won't be adequate. Hope that answer is what you are looking for.
