Live Plant + Waterfall

I am setting up an enclosure for a veiled. I am going to have some live plants on the safe list in there as long as all the normal necessities. I keep reading different things about waterfalls. Can I have a waterfall instead of a mister? Or do they really cause respiratory issues in chameleons?

It's not that they cause respiratory issues, it's that they breed bacteria, and if the cham drinks the water that is contaminated they can become sick. Instead of the waterfall, go with a mister, or a dripper. I have an automatic mister on a timer, and it works like a charm. The other consideration against a waterfall is that most chams lick the water droplets off leaves, branches, etc, instead of drinking standing water, so with either a mister or dripper you will have that rain effect for them. Good luck with your new cham!

So I don't need a mister and a dripper I can just get a mister? What mister do you use and when is it set to go off on a timer and how long and how do you catch the water?

Thanks,

Search on the forum 'drainage set ups' and you'll get dozens of ideas. I know with the mistking, you can set the timer to go off so many times a day, for however long sessions you want (30 seconds, 1 minute 30 seconds, 2 minutes 10 seconds, etc..). I also run a dripper in the mornings when I leave for work.
