Liquid in Lungs, Help

I was dosing my cham with reptaid, and normally I take him out, he opens up his mouth, I squirt some in, and we're done.
Today he was apparently tired of that game and as I was squirting the liquid in he bit the syringe, and puffed up at the same time.. now he's acting like a cham with URI, some gaping, head up, and I can hear him breathing.

Is there anything I can do? Will he work it out of his system on his own? It was just .1 ml or so

Make sure he has heat. You may want to raise his basking temp by 5F.

He seems to be doing better, he did go right for the basking spot.
The flip side of this is that today is the best he's seemed in days, which is probably why he decided it was time to attack the evil syringe.

Seems like the hardest part about these animals is that when something isn't right, treating them freaks them out so badly.

Greetings, and sorry to hear about the mishap. I was going to suggest higher temps, too. And our vet recommends slightly elevated temps at night, too, for a cham with a lung situation. A low wattage nighttime heat lamp or ceramic heat lamp will do the job. Basically, with the nightime temp I am trying to keep his cage at its daytime ambient temp, not a basking temperature, just a warmer ambient temp.

If that is what happened, it is called aspiration pneumonia. Our vet says a cham can recover from it, and that the residue in the lungs can be reabsorbed by the body. But he does recommend the elevated temps. Just make sure he doesn't dry out, because you need to keep his respiratory membranes moist. So, he needs humidity, too.

We have a female that exhibited these signs after dosing, and she was fine after a day.

Let us know how he does. If you had not said he was already doing better I would perhaps have recommended a trip to the vet. Although, when we took a cham in with these symptoms the vet recommended the warmer temps and plenty of humidity.

i think it's safer to inject meds to crix/ dubia and let your cham eat the insect instead of squirting method.
He should be able to work it out if that is the case.
monitor him real close and get your vet number handy.
