Like clockwork...

She’s got a nice big bin full of fresh, clean play sand sitting in the bottom of her viv. But for some reason she insists on digging up this one poor pitcher plant before going to her bin every time, like clockwork...

Pitcher plant you say. Didn't know they were safe. Thats awesome! 2 types of predators 1 cage.

Ha! Poor nepenthes. Do you find that pitchers do pretty well in your cham enclosures?

I keep temperate species of carnivorous plants outside in the summer, but haven't had much luck with the tropical pitchers

It definitely catches hell. I’d say it does pretty well. This particular one is in the very top right corner of her viv below a rain nozzle so it gets soaked multiple times a day but quickly dries out. Very close to 3 6500k bulbs. The plant itself is about 12” tall but leans over because it’s too tall for where it’s planted. Usually has 5 or 6 healthy red 2” pitchers on it, handful of aged ones.

I have a pitcher plant that has tripled in size in my enclosure. Pitchers are bigger than my hand lol. It has a 6500k JD LED right over it with 40+ min of misting a day though. Cool to see one hanging in there with a panther set up
