I have a 2 month old male veiled and i keep him in a screened cage.

Im am currently using one uvb 5.0 compact florcent bulb and have read in several places that the screening of the cage will cut down on the amount of uvb that bets in the cage.

Im just wondering if this is true and if it is how much lighting is required. Im actually on my way out to the store to get another bulb and fixture just to be safe...

And i also have a Hibuscious in the cage with him. Will the lighting for the Chameleon be good enough for my plant or will i need something else...

I have a super large habitat. When I made it I posted pictures and asked for some advice on lighting. One of the lights I used was the 10.0 compact bulb. Now a fair portion of people gave me the info on it, which was it is dangerous in a small habitat. Considering the closest an animal could get to it was 14" (much farther than most smaller cages) I didn't think it would be a problem.

Truth be told over the last few weeks the animals started to have that "sunburn" I've seen once in a while over the years where the top portions of the animal start to peel while other areas are not. I would strongly steer people away from the 10.0 bulbn regardless of the cage size. You are using a 5.0, I would think you'd be ok but the compact bulbs are rather powerful. I switched over to all linear 5.0 bulbs.

I would suggest switching to the Zoomed Repti-sun 5.0 tube.
Better safe than sorry.
