Do pygmys need any type of light.? I'm interested in starting a small colony of them whenever I can find some for sale, but I want to get all the research on them first. So do they need the same light as panthers or veiled.? And whats a good temperture to keep them at.? Any other good advice is welcome.

they are currently not being exported and are very hard to get....there are a few babies being born around and I am planning to setup a large size breeding colony as soon as possible

but realistically, I wouldn't expect to find any for a good while longer...

as for lights, they just need a regularly old CFL bulb for plant growth (no basking, no uvb).

I personally use 1 6500K 15W CFL for each of my 12x12x18" tanks.

I use a uva/uvb combo for my pygmies, and a heavily planted viv. I occasionally do see my adults climb out of the foliage and bask near the top. there is a lot of debate as to whether they benefit from uvb or not, however I didn't want to chance mbd in any of my chams regardless of size.

I understand it will be a while before I get them, but it doesnt hurt to do my research now. :)

Where can I buy the plant light.?

And what dual light do you use.?

I found a good thing one fl chams about them, and lights was the only question I have. I think I understand the rest. :)

Fl chams has a great one on their page. I'll defiantly be looking at that when I'm on an actual computer.

Do you keep pygmies or plan on it.?

I also plan to gather some ... going my research way before I get any. ( as I did for my veiled cham) Let me know about your summary of your research. I mainly use my blog as a reference .. just gathered all together on the internet! Get better sites reccomend them to me and i can add them!

Same here, as it will probably be a long time before I can find any. Just want to do all my research. I'll defiantly let you know. Maybe we can swap information and ideas over messaging.?

a basic grow light is literlaly just a basic CFL bulb.

for best results and best visuals i personally recommend 6500K color temperature ("daylight")
