my petstore only has repti sun 2.0 and 10.0..... which should i pick, i heard 5.0 is what u want.. should i look elsewhere.. and how many inches should i get. my enclosure is 48x24x36

try lll reptiles, they have everything and they're a sponsor here. also, they have cheaper prices than your local pet stores. an 18 or 20 inch should work for you. 5.0 Reptisun.

Personally I'd get a 24" fixture and a 24" tube 5.0 but I like full coverage of uvb on my cages. DIY cages has some real nice 24" dual fluorescent fixtures in 24" lengths. That way you can add a plant bulb to the mix and keep your plants alive and looking good. The fixtures are pretty reasonable considering they come with seperate toggle switchs for each bulb and they come with a reflector already built in. You can get cheaper fixtures at hd or lowes but they arent going to have seperate switches or reflectors from what Ive seen at my local stores.

The 2.0 does not put out much uvb and it only travels about 1.5 to 2 inches from the bulb. The 10.0 you would have to increase the distance from the basking spot.
