1. I need to know what the best misting system is.
What brand of bulb is the best.

2. anyone's oppinion on the Herp Keeper... if anyone uses one of these. It is made by digital aquatics. I use a reef keeper for my salt water tank and it is really nice so it stands to reason that they know what they are doing with the herp Keeper also...????

3. I would also like to know what the best electronic humidity control system is out there. One that will read the humidity and spray water as needed to keep humidity constant.

4. Also, and this is verry important. Where is the Best Place to purchase these items price is important as is knowledge and customer service.

5. What is the best bulb brand.

6. If anyone knows a nice piece of equipment that is benificial in a cham cage post it on here!!! Let me know about it. :)

All opinions welcome. I am on a time restraint and need to get this cage put together so I really appriciate your feedback.

I will be buying the mist king, deluxe set up in a few weeks. mistking is the bset for misting systems.

I also use reptiglo bulbs. thoguh i think reptisun is just as good.

i use zoomed hoods, though i may need to upgrade to a differetn one for bigger lights.

Just looked at the - EZ400-RHT Humidity Enabled Vivarium Controller by Eco Zone Vivarium controllers. Is that the one you recomend? I think I can only plug in 4 things to it, I'm not sure that is going to be enough.
I'm going to need to plug in 2 lights, a night heater, and at least 2 water pumps. The mistking system and I think I'm going to use a fogger occasionally just for funskie. :) Can you hook all of these things up to one EcoZone head unit?

How do you have yours set up?

I do agree about Digital Aquatics though... My reef Keeper is nice but I had to figure it all out myself. It was a serious pain in the but. Absolutly no customer assistance...
 
I have my basking heat lamp, ceramic heater, mister and a fogged plugged into it I run my UVB lighting off of a separate timer
I have a sensor for the
Middle of the cage and one for the top I have it set up to run based of of middle of cage humidity
And the heating is ran off the top of the cage
Probe and it was very simple to program would be way hard to explain. But it basically walk you through it very nice!
 
I would go with the ecozone vivarium controller over reefkeeper for said reasons^^ I believe Kevin(sumoner12) uses a couple of them and has said some good things about them. I believe he has a thread for it, check it out
 
i would also go with an ecozone, but they are entirely unneccessary for "basic" setups imho....perhaps for more serious display setups

Agreed but I love it and I wouldn't run my reef tank without a controller so I had the same mindset with my cham give you more time to do other things ;) but I totally agree its not necessary just a nice thing to have!
 
So it looks like the EcoZone is upgradeable... Is it also Expandable? I mean can I add additional outlets to it?
 
Yeah, I guess I'm sold on it. I'll give em a call. I want to read Kevin's thread too, what is his screen name?
 
So, I have been looking at Tom's EcoZone and Digital Aquatics HerpKeeper.
You can have more than 4 outlets with the HerpKeeper. You just have to buy another powerstrip. They call it a PC4. It costs $80. It also appears that the HerpKeeper does more than the EcoZone and paying the extra $80 for the aditional 4 outlets still comes in cheaper.

As for the Eco Zone, I have 2 major problems.

also, it appears as though the HerpKeeper can handle a lot more temperature and humidity probes.

I have a reefkeeper for my saltwater tank. It was challenging to figure out but I bet a good customer service rep at the store should be familier enough with it to help out. It is probably verry similar to my reefKeeper so once you know how to work it it is mad simple.

Any one here ever purchased a HerpKeeper?
 
Wholy smokes. Now that's got me interested. :) I don't know where to start lol. Have you used this for your controllers?
 
Not for my chameleon (I only have 1 and a regular lamp timer works for him). I work in a lab and we use these badboys to control heat during production. You can also get them for humidity or anything else you feel like. Most also have ethernet connections for computer based DAQ systems and remote monitors.
 
I don't really need a timer for the one cham, I just like gadgets. :) They make me happy lol. I may put off buying a controller and build one for fun. That could keep me bussy for a while :)
