Hey everybody,

I had a question. I read that i need to have my veiled chameleons light on for at least 10-12 hours day. I also read that they need complete darkness at night. What would you recommend if we have the air conditioning on at night?

It needs to be dark, moon light dark, some leds and hallway lights are fine.

I keep all of mine on a 12/12 schedule and yes, it needs to be dark. If you have the air conditioning on at night are you concerned about temperature or the light from the A/C? If you are concerned about temps, it will be fine so long as the enclosure is not placed next to the unit. If you are concerned about some lights coming off the A/C - that should be fine unless it's lighting up the entire room...which I doubt!

It doesn't need to be cave dark or bottom of the ocean dark. I don't see small lights on an air conditioner as being a problem.

If the room temp goes below 55*F with the AC on then you would need a ceramic heat emitter to bring temps up above 55*F. Doubt anyone keeps their house that cold though...

Thank you ALL for the replies. I should have been more specific but my main concern WAS with the temperature. Pasquale's enclosure is not next to the unit but the temperature is roughly 67 degrees. I just don't want to harm Pasquale. Thank you very much.

67 degrees is fine for him at night. If it gets colder, between 55-60 degrees then you will want to consider a ceramic heat emitter at night.

Hi , I uses this . It came highly recommended. I have central air and I worried about him cold at night . It gives off heat no light. Perfect
