Lighting question

I have a Repti Glo 5.0 and a Basking 75W lamp on top of my veilled enclosure but I wanted to add a daylight bulb. Doing some research over the internet I found that Exo Terra sell different options and I wanted to ask you what do you think of these.

Sun Glo Neodymium 15W lamp. or the 60W?
Sun Glo halogen spot?
Repti Glo 2.0?

I wanted to know if anybody is using a Dual Top fixture that has two linear flourescent bulbs and one or two halogen spots?
Also is anybody using a Light cycle unit?

Would you recommend any of these. I don't want to have so many things over the enclosure this is why I liked these units. But are halogen spots safe? My idea is to use a Dual top fixture with one Repti Glo 5.0 and one 2.0 and the 2 halogen for basking spots.
Or leave my 75W sun glo combined with a Sun Glo neodymium and my 5.0 Repti glo.
Or leave the 75W sun glo and combine it with a two lamp fixture where I would fix a 2.0 and a 5.0 Repti glo.

Please let me know what you think is best. I would like to help plants grow and cham coloration.

The enclosure is H1.20m x 90cm x D40cm

Thanks

I have used the Exo Terra dual top for two female veileds. The only complaint I have is that the plastic doesn't seem to withstand the heat  and I have had two now that have cracked down the sides! Luckily the shop has replaced both of them. I am now on the third 'top' because of this fault.

Exo Terra make two 'tops' - a compact top and the dual top. I see that you are considering the dual top which is good - the compact one houses compact bulbs which are bad news for chameleons and their eyes.

I use (on recommendation by the shop) the dual top with the Repti Glo 10.0 and 2.0 UV tubes. I don't use the Sunglow basking/heat bulbs anymore - they are expensive and they made the temps too high for Amy. I now use a 40W spotlight bulb in a desk lamp that sits on the back corner of the viv.

I use quite a lot of compact florescent lighting; why do you say they're bad for chameleons eyes?

compact uvb bulbs can cause blindness and eye issues...i made the same mistake for about 2 weeks when i first got my cham...always use a tube uvb! and a incandesant heat sorce

reptisun 5.0 is nice along with the reptiglo 5.0...get the reptisun if you can ....and if theres only reptiglo go ahead and get it ....dont get offbrand...reptisun is zoomed and reptiglo is exotera...stick to those

D@mn, those look horrible!

Anyone point me to some data on this phenomenon and why compact flo.s cause it?

It has to do with the length if the waves they put out. Not all compacts are bad, but the majority of them are so we just say to stick with the known and true reptisun 5.0.

Doesn't look like all CF are problematic

Looks like there were a few types of CFs with intentionally high UVb caused a problem. Anybody have data on any other CFs causing problems?

PS. I've used CFs for decades.
