Lighting

No I'm not using a night lamp but my house gets pretty cold at night so it might come in handy.. Also would a regular home light bulb put of heat just like the ones made for reptiles

You need one tube uvb light. Like this one. Replace every 6 months.

Then you need one basking light. You can be flexible with this. Regular house bulbs (incandescents), work as well as the brand name ones. So long as it puts out enough heat, not too much.

Red lights disturbs them at night. I would get a ceramic heater instead.

How cold does your house get? In Winter, my cham room gets as low as 66F and this is not a problem. Some would say keeping it no less than 68F is better, especially for young ones. Better to heat the room in which the chameleon is kept, but if you cant do that for some reason use a ceramic heat bulb (emmits no light) as previously suggested.

One of my blog entries has quite a bit of stuff collected on lighting that you may like to check out
