Lighting

My Custom Enclosure should be around 28w 36l and 72h, I'm hoping to get a Reptisun 5.0 (24 inch) and some sort of basking light, along with a
2 ft. - 1 Lamp - F24T5-HO - Fluorescent Grow Light Fixture - Full Spectrum 6500K Lamp Included - Reflector Not Included - Sun Blaster T5 HO Strip Light.
I'll also purchase a reflector for it. Now my question is, is that enough light? Is it too strong? Should these lights be suspended from something, or can they go right on top of the cage? And could someone please recommend a basking light, I can seem to find a suitable one.
I'm sorry yet again for all the questions, just I'll be getting my first ever Cham soon, and I want to go all out making sure hes got all he wants/needs.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forums. Where will you be keeping this giant cage? I'm not a lighting expert but that sounds like way to many lights. I recommend a Reptisun 10.0 for a cage that size. If you get a double 24 inch fixture you can put your UVB bulb in one side and your plant light in the other. Then all you will need is a household bulb for basking. It's very important to have a digital temp. gun so you can measure the temps correctly.

Thanks! Well I plan on keeping it in the basement, lighting aint the best down there. But a double light 24inch fixture sounds nice! Im gonna go look into that, also you dont possible have any basking lights the recommend?

Veiled. There is lighting and all just aint the best, not like its dark or anything.

Just wondering. I house my chams in the basement. It's dark, so I use a lot of lights. I keep montane though, and I keep them down there to stay cool. For a veiled, I'd try to keep them upstairs.

Okay, Ill see if I can find room, if I cant would they still be fine down there?
Also when it comes to lighting, should the lights be hung above the cage? And should the lights be put in like an aquatic light fixture, or a light reflector?, cause I cant seem to find how I'm gonna add in the florescent lights...

Well sure he can be just fine down there as long as you can meet the heat and lighting requirements. I set my lights right on top of the cages. Don't hang your UV lights above the cage, they should be as close to the top of the enclosure as possible.

Like Mike said, your best bet is the Arcadis setups.

This is what I use. For a cage that size, you can do the 12%. Just make sure you have shaded spots (live plants like a schefflera) that they can hide under when they want. It also has a 6.5k bulb to help with live plants.

They may be a little more expensive, but the UVB bulb lasts a year, where as a Reptisun needs replacing every 6 months. Not to mention the quality of the bulbs and fixture itself.

I have a rather large cage as well with a large schefflera and lots of horizontal upper branches for various basking spots.
I chose to go with the "12% quad light" from L.Y.R.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Thanks so much! Just wondering if you could do a bit more explaining about the Arcadis itself, like I dont understand what the 12% is, is it just UVB? or Heat too? Sorry I would have check the info page about it but it requires a pass code I dont have.
