I know this has probably been answered somewhere else, so if there is a link to another post that's fine. However, from my searches and reading on here I've got a question as to what sort of bulb will work for the heat source. I've seen 6500k and incandescent, but when I went to Lowes, the guy was telling me that doesn't exist. Do I need a bulb closer to the higher Kelvin or an incandescent?

I'm going to do the 10.0 reptisun UVB, is there a difference in the mini bulb?

Plus, I'm assuming that with these bulbs combined it's enough for good plant growth?

Well I'm not an expert but based on whant I've read it depends on some factors (cage size, plants that you are using etc). The incandescent bulb can be just a normal bulb. You have to play araound with the differend wattages so you achieve the desire temperature. I use a 70W and it works perfectly fine for me. For the uvb you whant at least 5.0 so the chameleon gets the necessary uvb but if your cage is too big or you have to many live plants you could use the 10.0 . Hope this helps you

Thanks the cage is going to be ~24"x48", and I have not gotten the plants yet. The pathos and such were not in at Lowes yesterday. I understand the wattage needs to be 65ish, but wasn't sure what was more important, ie. the fact the bulb was an incandescent or the fact it was high Kelvin.

For the heat bulb, incandescent (which were phased out) or different Kelvin values don't matter at all for the health of the chameleon. The different Kelvin just changes the color of the light. The florescent bulbs and LED bulbs use much less energy to achieve the same lumens, which is usually good, but as you want the excess heat created by the inefficient bulbs, I would recommend that you go with the new Halogens. That UVB bulb is the important one.

Awesome, that's what I needed to know. I've got a coral reef tank as well so I know all about lighting and heat, just couldn't figure out what was the most important factor in this case. However, I'm definitely not a plant guy, so the plants will pretty much be fine no matter?
