Lighting

So I have a new setup for my first panther that ill be getting in about a month. Right now I have a single reptisun 5.0 bulb. I was just wondering if more uv light would be better. I have an old 4 bulb t5 fixture that used to be on a saltwater reef. Would it help the plants/chameleon if I used that instead. Maybe only 2-3 of the bulbs if its too strong. And if so, what bulbs should I use?

One reptisun 5.0 should be sufficient. You can use plant grow lights. A lot of people use the 6500k grow lights. You can buy these at home depot and use with your reptisun and it is safe for your chameleon.

What carol said. Unless you have a cage that blocks a lot of UVB then a 5.0 should be fine. Even if you do, a 10.0 is usually enough. Plant bulbs are nice though. It lights up the whole cage and helps the plants. Plus hibiscus thrive better and even flower if you have plant lights!
