Ok I was just told that its way too hot for my jackson at almost 85 degree's in his basking area. So i took the bulbs out for a min and checked the temp without them after it had cooled off and got a reading of about 81 under the UVB light. Should i just stop using the heat lamp and just use the UVB alone?
My room is very hot, about 80 all day and I live in FL

I would use a basking bulb, but jsut use a very very low watt to keep heat down.
this way he can still find a place to get warm if he wants, as they do better in a light, than just from room temp like us.

This is wat I would say also! Just Like a 25w and keep it in one coner kind of.angled torwards the outside of the csge to provide like a 6x6 inch square that the .light.hits.

Thats exactly what i've been doing actually ! These are both my jackson set ups. (turned the lights out to get a pic)

Jackson's are cooler weather chameleons though, so if the ambient temp in the room itself is 80, this is too warm. Mine used to love his 84-85F basking spot, but the rest of the cage was at an ambient temp of about 73-75F with the AC. This way he had the option to cool off if he needs it. If your room is that warm constantly, this may not be good for his long-term health.

Is there no way you can turn down the AC or something? Or are you misting much more often to try to cool things down?

I am actually in the process of moving so this is just temporary. Maybe 1 more week and we will be out and in a place where i can change the temp and they won't be near the TV anymore. but i live at home for now in the garage and its HOTT
And i have a mister going off for 2 mins every hour to cool it off
