Does anyone know about the Exo-Terra Mercury Vapor Bulbs if there any good? I was told by a guy today that the mercury vapor bulb was a UVB and heat bulb a all in one fixture and last for 2 years with out replacing it.

MV bulbs do create heat and UV together but there can be problems too. The bulbs produce fairly intense heat so you need to watch the cage temps and humidity levels more closely. If you have montane or very young chams I would not use one. I've heard these types of bulbs can be fussy, can explode if they get sprayed with water, and sometimes don't last as long as they should. I haven't used them myself as I work more with montane species that don't like the intense light/heat.
