Lighting Question

I don't know why this hasn't ever occurred to me but I two or three times a month will have a friend or two over and we will stay until the break of dawn with the lights on. When I have a friend over and this might happen should I move chameleon to a different room, or can I dim the lights or something so he can sleep. but also wouldn't us talking and watching tv/playing video games and what not keep him from sleeping? Its not like we have the tv blaring or we're screaming at the top of our lungs though. Can anyone help me out?

I can only speak from experience with my chameleon and say as soon as her light goes off she's out like a light. Not even the tv seems to wake her up. As for the light ill often cover it at night with a light towel just to give her a little more privacy if the lights going to be on for a while yet (rather than mess up her light times).

What matters is if the lights in your chameleons cage go off. When mine goes off, sometimes I turn the lights in my room on for about a half hour or maybe an hour but my chameleon is between branches and leaves that he covers himself and it's pretty dark in my cage and the spots where he sleeps. I haven't had a problem at all with him waking up. From what I read online, chameleons do not have any ears so they can't hear anything but they can feel vibrations.

The good news: chameleons can't really hear. The bad news: they need darkness to sleep.

Solution: just throw a dark towel over the enclosure. :)
