Hi! Just bought a Panther Chameleon. He likes to hang upside down on the screen right above the basking lamps. I am afraid he will burn himself. How do I keep him off the screen?

Thank you.

:) Hello and welcome to the forums. How old id your Panther. From what I have been reading it is normal and babies really love to do this. Just raise your light up off the top some more and, feel the screen with your hand to make sure it isn't too warm.

I agree with Mcbdz raise the light or change size if bulb. In my experience your Cham will always find a way to go where he is not supposed to.:D

You dont keep him off the screen. you just keep the heat far enough away. Make sure you have 5.0 uvb bulb :)

Yep babies love to climb on the screen. Mine slept hanging upside down from the top quite a bit when he was little. I attached a peice of PVC pipe to my first cage and clamped my basking light to it. I used zip ties to attach it and it made it easy to raise and lower until I got the temp right. Good luck!
