Light weight enclosure floor

I'm making my female chameleon a bigger enclosure and I want it to be lightweight. I already know how I am going to make the frame, but I have no idea what to use for the floor! I was looking at pvc sheets, but it's super expensive!
Can you recommend some light weight flooring for a chameleon enclosure?
Also, I am making the enclosure from wood and mesh, I have read that you have to put something over the wood so it doesn't get ruined by water (misting the enclosure daily).
What would I put over the wood to protect it from water damage?
Thanks!

Mineral oil?
You could use a South American hardwood like ipe
Probably would not need to do anything to it

For the wood frame, use polyvarathane, it's what gets used on wooden skies and snowshoes. It's tough and will seal the surface of the wood. Go to you're local hardware store and ask if they carry that or anything similar. You wouldn't need much of it.

A think a good lightweight floor would be a sheet of polycarbonate or plexiglass. I have used both in various enclosures. I like them. Easily drilled too for drainage!
