Light strength compared to cage size.

yes, I would just try and make sure it is wide and covers the width of the cage or close to it. Put a branch below the uvb light and your cham will go under the light when he wants to. My cage is 30 wide and my housing for the bulb is 30 and the bulb itself is 24. I am not sure how much bigger they come than that though now that I am thinking about it.

for a 24" square cage that is 48" tall, a 10.0 linear lamp would be a good idea. Be sure the fixture is as wide as the cage.... 24" UVB lamp with a 24" wide cage.

yes you can use that or a housebulb(cheaper). You can try different wattages to achieve the basking temp you want.
@Imaleaf: just realize that UVB bulbs are (generally) only effective within 6-12". That is why it is important to have a branch/spot that the cham can sit on under the light that is near enough to effectively absorb the UVB.
As for the basking bulb, 60W is *PROBABLY* enough but none of us can tell you for sure. It depends on your local temperature, ambient temp, distance from the light to the basking spot, etc etc etc
I would *HIGHLY* recommend buying a simple "point and shoot" digital thermoter. They can be bought for $10-20. Just test the HOTTEST basking spot, it should be right around 80F (although it varies slightly by species so check the appropriate temps for your cham; I don't have veiled but I *think* 85F is appropriate for babies and 82F is for adults. Given your animal is 6months old, I'd aim somewhere around 82-83F for the basking spot.
