ok iv heard from some people that chams dont do sooo well in captivitie that one ladie i talked to (i work with her) said she use to live in africa and she would catch veiled chams and take them home she to told me the longest her lived was a year i wonder if she took propper care of her cham and if it was beyond stressed out cause it came from the wild??? what the longest time yall have kept a cham healthy and alive i kno there life span is suppose to be 5 to 6 years?

Chams can live for a long time in captivity if everything's done to make sure the chameleon is healthy. The oldest cham that I've seen on this forum was 7 years old. I think parsons live longer than that though since they are such slow growers, correct me if I'm wrong.

I think I have heard that Parson's lives for up to 20 years old. But I'm not 100% positive.

It sounds rediculous but like I said I'm not 100% positive.

If you search the threads there was a recent one about the ages of chameleons. There is one person who had or still has a Veild for 13 years and another member who had one for 9 yrs. That is rare. 6 or 7 years is a good age. Same with panthers. My breeder at Kammerflage said they live around 6 years, considered to be old and the oldest she ever had was 9 years old.

if i am not mistaken you are right..they are not fully recorded as to yet the full fife span as they do live longer than 10 years..(i suspect it would be hard to follow just a lizard, dont get me wrong they are more than that to me..but a gorrilla is more of substance to nat geo and such to study over time)..so i dont think you are very far off..im not sure..and will say again im NOT SURE, but i think i remember somthing about them finding bones of what they beleived was a 22 year old skull of a male parsons(i was like 12, it was when i was all about chams)..
