So we were not only blessed by a litter of rats today, but also a little crestie. Currently the picture I took is grainy and horrible. But the little one is tiny. And I am so happy with the amazingly easy hatch it seems to have had.

Awe, congratulations on the little ones!! Seeing the crestie makes me almost want to jump back into them again, they are pretty awesome and it is soo cute:love:

If this little one keeps the general markings and coloring he/she has I may keep it. Depends, but this is a high quality crested that I didn't expect. It all depends on what happens when it hits juvenile though and how much the markings change. Right now it's a flame high percentage Harley, with what looks to be Halloween colors. Don't know pin stripe percentage yet.... We will see what changes. Technically if this is all true this baby is worth 200+

omg and if that's not enough new babies the silkworms are hatching far before I thought they would and I was gifted with slings from Queenie <3 but far too many XD her egg sac had like 20+ babies in it more like 40

OMG Cuteness overload!!!

Every time I see a awesome reptile my first thought is "I want one", and as if it is not hard enough keeping my self control... every time my boys see a cute reptile they ask me if we can get one!! It is SO hard to say "we can't right now, but maybe someday"!!

Toffee the first hatchling has changed colors and markings already dramatically. Very orange and dark cream will need to get new pictures

New baby hatched:

The new baby so far is much much darker but also larger with much more of a breeder sought after body. Already good sized crests and a wide head.

If you want one you can get one lol XD when they are a bit older and weighing in at 10 grams minimum.

But remember I have 5 other eggs and two who will likely hatch before these guys are ready, so might want to wait before choosing <3

Oh how you tempt me!!!! I will wait to decide if I can get one. I would need to research them again, everything I learned the last time has left my head to make room for other information LOL!

Sure info would be great! Adult cage size, the kind of cage, lighting, watering (humidity), and feeding requirements would be fantastic!

Single adult cage size minimum would be 18x18x24" anything larger is acceptable only for juveniles... babies don't do well at all when given too much space... weirdos.Feeding they do best with arboreal cups I make mine with earth magnets and hot glue, most adults need 4 earth magnets in total. The do best with a mostly glass or combo cages, I am currently using 29 qt sterilites for my enclosures but will be changing to some dragon strands when I have the money. Lighting at most should be older 5.0 uvb, new 2.0 uvb is acceptable, mild basking is ok depending on temps. They are pretty hard core nocturnal but need photoperiods. Watering is a heavy mist once a day for adults, 2 for juveniles, and multiple for hatchlings, but of course that depends where you live etc. They aren't really complicated. Also they drink out of water dishes. So always have a shallow one available for juveniles and up. ummm food for me is insects 3 times a week with calcium plus once on the insects and plain calcium the two other times and then you can do pangea 1-2 times a week otherwise. My technical smoothie recipe is not complete. That's why I still rely on pangea sometimes.

I think you just overloaded my brain LOL  Thanks for all the info, I will carefully take a look at it, check to see what supplies I already have, and consider it! How long will it be before they are ready to go?

Probably month+ and then I will have 2 other eggs hatching around then too, no rush sweetie. I will not be selling these guys before they are ready and only to those I know can handle their needs. I am already handling Toffee, the hatchmate will be handled tonight or at least touched lol. Everyone says they are too fragile at this age, but I honestly wonder how small their babies are when they hatch these guys are the size of my pinky.

Make sure to keep posting pictures, I love pictures of baby reptiles lol. Can't wait until I can get one again at some point, guess it's gonna be awhile though.
