Licking his branch?

Franklin keeps on licking his branch, he has done it about 5 times.
What does it mean???

Some Chameleons will lick objects to sense them. My Veiled never did, but my Panther licks his branches and vines quite often. It's perfectly normal.

My veiled likes drinking from the branches rather than the leaves, so I always position his dripper to drip on a branch Sounds like he was licking it for water or to sense it like the other person said!
