my 9 month old male panther has had his eye closed for some time now. At first i thought he might just have something in his eye but it had been about a month. He seems to try to scratch it on a branch like it is irritated. He opens it only when i take him outside. He did have a ficus plant but i took it out a couple weeks ago once i heard that it might cause irritation. I took him to a vet but since he was outside his cage his eye was open. The vet could not make any conclusions so he gave us an eye ointment and sent us off. The ointment has had no effect what so ever. He is very active, eats and drinks a lot, has proper lighting and heat. Any ideas? Thank you!
