Least Stressful Way to Add Decorations?

I plan on adding a considerable amount--2 new branches, and 2 new fake plants--to my Chameleon's enclosure. What would be the least stressful way to do this? He *really* doesn't like me being near him, and I've only handled him twice in the two months I've owned him(he wants space, so I'm giving it to him, and I like to think more cover is good).

So, I guess I'm wondering if taking him out of the cage would be better than leaving him in while putting the plants/decorations in. I *fully* recognize that none are ideal solutions, especially with his attitude being what it is, but I know he needs more cover and I'm trying to do the best I can.

Thanks.

Take him out since you will be disturbing a lot of the cage more than you realize.

You can put stick in front of him when he climbs up take the stick out and put him on a safe plant you are not putting in that cage :)

I don't think he'll go for the stick, but it's an idea! Thanks, I was leaning that way myself and just wanted to be sure. Mostly I think he's gonna say, "You know where you can stick that stick...." :p

Veiled's have *too* much personality. :)

Whenever I need to add/modify anything in my chams cage I just open the door and stick a vine going from a branch in his cage to a plant outside his cage. He moves out on his own free will, I do what I have to do and he usually heads back in for water/food or by bedtime
