soo my mate has used his tong
very las the last couple of months...
he most of the time walks to his pray and shoot from like 6 cms of it...
first likking it to see what powder is on it...
and then he eats it most of the time
he is 3 years old atm.. or close by
anyone that has notice the same with their cham???
to lazy to shoot so walks to it... ??
he does that with super worms.. and waxmoths flying forms

My jacksons Noogie will do that sometimes with dubia roaches, walk over
and pick them up with his mouth.
But they lay flat, and he cant get a grip by just biting, so he will finally back
up a bit and flick his tongue to catch them.

If you want him to get over being lazy, just loose some blue bottle flies in
his cage!!

He cant bite those :D

Lack of tongue use can mean a lack of vitamin A or calcium. it can be bruised or injured. then again, like you say, he may be lazy. chams are funny little creatures.

haha ok ok! the only flie thingys i can remember getting here in holland
are krul flys... crazy name but thats how they called
and fruit flys :/

OK so today again some superworms.. and
some waxmoth flys..
and again my mate just waits till they get close and shoot them like 5
centimeters away.. its not that long tong anymore.. and he wont eat out
of my hand.. shall i dont give him food for 1 day.. and see if he
can be hand feeded with a silkworm that i am getting wensday?
from a distance... to see how he reacts?
he is kinda making it hard to to hand feed him.. because everytime he comes out of his cage he jumps onto me and wants to cuddle and run around the house haha sooo anyone???

What specific supplements do you use and how often for each? What do you gutload the insects with? Do you have a UVB light? Is there any glass or plastic between the light and the chameleon?

I did not know Vitamin A caused tongue issues? I know it can cause eye problems but was not aware of the tongue.

Ok. Did he gradually start losing use? I think if it was sudden, it would more likely be some type of injury. Have you inspected the inside if his mouth?

well he had some trouble with a locust 2 months ago i took it out after 5 mins he was struggling to eat it ..
not to big it became slymy i never see that...
but after that he shot sometimes from far but 1 week or 2 weeks after he start disliking locusts and crickets but eats all worms species just walks to them and then shoots from 5 cms..
