Laying eggs Too much

Hi

I have a female Panther that is about 1.5 years old and lays what seems to be non stop

I have asked before and was told to lower temps and slow down on the feeding.

We lowered the basking temp to around 82 and have been feeding her every other day( about 5 crickets, 2 worms(silk,super,Horned).

She lays eggs roughly every 1.5 to 2 months

we have a male beside her but its blocked off so she can't see him.

Not sure what else to do.

Lower the temps some more. Down around 78 or so. Sometimes females will continue to lay, but that seems very fast. Have you bred her before? (I assume all her clutches are infertile)

I've also read that feeding too much is connected to egg laying.

Lowering the temperature slightly and feeding less won't likely stop a panther from producing eggs but it seems to lower the number of eggs produced. What I always did was after a batch of eggs is laid feed her well for a couple of days and then cut back he amount. The only reason I lowered he temperature was to try to slow the metabolism a little to make the chameleon less hungry. IMHO its not just lowering the amount of food but the timing of lowering the food that helps.

Yes, 3-5 days, i believe. However, i do minimize food year round, except while pregnant.

However, one book i have, which is about 5 years old, states something about pheromones and the female being able to detect the male. All my females are kept beside each other. I actually keep my males in their own room, just as a precaution. Better safe than sorry. My female panthers have pretty much stopped with infertile clutches. Each was bred once last year, and only had one unwanted infertile clutch. That was couple months ago, and some seem to be fertile, as they are growing. Like a 40/60 (fertile/infertile) ratio. She hadn't bred in the last 8 months or so. I would assume retained sperm. Some of the eggs are definitely white and growing, the rest i chucked. They were a bit small though, but she always produces smaller eggs than others. However, hers always hatch right at six months. No guesswork. As you may have guessed, she is my favorite, as i dote on her.
