Larry is launching his tongue at his water drops from the dripper. Can this be bad?

I set up my dripper in a spot that he is near pretty frequently and the dripper runs down a little ladder for a nice little run. I was watching him and he was under the ladder and shooting at the water drops with his tongue. I'm not sure if he thought it was food or if he thought that was the best way to get the water, I'm concerned though if he is launching his tongue at the water he may overshoot and hit the screen or he may knick the wood. It isn't rough or anything but I figure its better for him not to hit it.

Any thoughts?

It's a normal activity, for some chameleons to drink this way at times.
