Large white/hard growths on Panther male

Other than those growths/bumps he doesn't look like he's in bad condition.

This is what I thought while viewing the pics.

Sorry, OP. I really dont have much insight besides getting him to a vet and get him started on recovery. He isnt emaciated and looks pretty alert in the pics. I am sure he will make a good recovery with some TLC. Good luck and I hope he has a quick recovery.

Vet visit for sure. I was just wondering is that a "glass" terrarium that he's in (looks like it)? If so could his problem stem from that? (That second "?" was directed towards the experienced cham members on here since I myself am new w/ chams & could be wrong) Also did you fill out the how to get help form yet?

Just looked back though pic.. okay, so it definitely at least part glass & looks like screened top? Is the front also glass or just the sides? Also it is alway good to fill out that help form & give all the info you can on your set up & such. You will get a lot of good feedback from the experienced cham owners on here. Everyone on here is very helpful. Hope you get that resolved for him.

Glass terrarium isn't the problem.

Whoever felt it might be the result of locust bites wins my best guess. I've seen similar in imported lizards that have crawled on each other and broken the skin with filthy poop covered nails. But nothing near this extreme. My guess is hygene hasn't been the best for this lizard and also environment is causing depressed immune system and then bacteria infection has set in around wounds maybe from the locusts.

It's just a guess though- vet treatment would be the way to go. Probably an improved environment, no extra locusts crawling on the poor lizard and antibiotics would set things right unless it has gone throughout the system...

In the one photo the eye doesn't look so great either. Could be the photo though...

Did you guys notice this post was from two months ago? They never did let us know what happened to that poor cham.

His last activity was on 10-22-2010 at 1:39pm. I have a feeling his chameleon did not make it.

I didn't notice the date.
LOL for the love of pete who went back through old posts and brought this one back to life?

Was there ever a verdict from the vet?

My cham has similar abscesses and I just took him in to the vet. She said she had no idea what they were but I got some antibiotics to give him.

I don't think this user is active anymore. The appearance of the growths in those pictures is suspicious for viral or fungal growths. The only way to determine would be take a biopsy and send it to the lab for histo pathology (where they look at the cells under the microscope). If its viral they may need to do additional testing on it. In my chameleon with unusual growths they found papillomavirus. Without biopsy it's too hard to say what might be causing it or how serious it is.
