Kudos to my Vet!

Although they will never see this, I really appreciated a vet visit today.

1.5 weeks ago I took in a WC Cham that had received a small wound that appeared to become infected. Went in, got him checked out and achieved a topical cleaner and antibiotic with plans to follow up today.

Went in for check up and it was clear that it was not improving. Next step was a more direct antibiotic treatment.

Here is where I was pleased.

She suggested that we get a culture done to determine the type of antibiotic we need to ensure that we get it taken care of. I was prepared to request that if the default, "lets dose Baytril" came up, but she was ahead of me!! In addition, it was sent of today at 5PM (Friday) to start the culture right away to get results back by Tuesday at the latest.

This Vets does deal in exotics but not specifically Chameleons. To that point, when I have brought in uncommon species they have on their own researched those species for any specifics they would need to know. In addition, they have been eager to talk with me about various care needs to help them learn.

I am just sharing as we hear so many horror stories, it is good to get a good one going!

That's awesome! Glad to hear it! Kudos to the vet for sure! I lived in Lafayette a couple years ago. I must say, Louisiana has been my favorite state I've ever lived in!

Well did you explain to this vet you would kill her if your cham was not better? Oh wait, I forgot you are the sweet gentle one. But really it is great to hear how caring and competent most vets are. Hope you have a healthy happy cham soon.

I would settle for a vet that can spell chameleon.:(:(:(
