today I woke up and noticed Chameleonaire was gaping. It was really cool night last night got around 62 in my room. Had his fogger gping last night and two other nights in the last week. His ambient temps in there were 72 towards the top and 66 towards the bottom and will heat up some more thru the day. He did this a few times before but I’m pretty sure that was because of his heat lamp after I first got him.

Here’s a pic

What is the airflow in Chameleonaires enclosure? Is he being housed in a glass, 50/50 enclosure or screen enclosure? Chameleonaire could be gaping due to a lack of air flow.

He’s in a hybrid enclosure, I have a fan that blows air into the room most days and even at night I have an evaporatorative air cooler to help get temps down at night. I’ve seen the small ones you can attach to an enclosures screen, maybe I should invest?

Are you hearing any breathing problems? Could be hotter in other spots.
I didn’t hear anything when I was watching him, I’ll have a little more time to look tonight when I get home. I think I’m going to leave the fogger out of the mix for a while to see.

I would say if the gaping persists Chamelionaire may be starting to developing an Upper Respitory infection. You seem to have adequate air flow in your enclosure. However I would schedule a vet visit for some antibiotics if Chameleonaire does have an Upper Respitory infection.

How clean is Chameleonaires enclosure clean/semi clean/ or dirty? That could cause an infection with your chameleon too.

I wouldn’t say it’s the most cleanest, I try to spot clean throughout my the week picking up his poop and stuff. Deep cleaning like once every other week or so.

Where is the humidity sitting during the day. Do you have a PC fan sitting on top of the cage pulling air up and out the top?

the humidity in the daytime hangs in the 40s sometimes lower 50s if I water all my plants and stuff, and I do not have a pc fan, only one that blows air into the room I have Chameleonaire in.

Yes, I have it sucking the air out from the top of the enclosure, blowing it outwards. It's on the noisy side at max strength, admittedly.
I also have a shinco dehumidifier that I let run for an hour a day that really sucks out the humidity, but it is much more on the pricey end.
