Keeping clean while keeping Chameleons

I’d like to know what you guys do to stay clean while dealing with your chameleon. Personally I mess with the cage and feel the urge to take a shower. Does anyone just wash their hands? Change their clothes? Take a shower? Or am I just tripping and way too germaphobic? XD

I immediately throw my clothes in the washer and get in the shower I know he’s not a biohazard and I was trying to approach him like most approach snakes and then I was told WASH YOUR HANDS!!! And that scared me into treating him like a biohazard

Don’t mean I love him any less

I just wash my hands after handling him. That’s all you have to do. No need to take a shower and wash your clothes. Germs don’t travel that fast and you only touched him with your hands. I’m a germaphobe. I have OCD but I’m treated with meds and have gotten a lot better but I used to be bad.

I just wash my hands. I’ve dealt with much worse than just holding a chameleon and cleaning up after animal messes and good hand washing has never let me down.

I don't know why but I also wash my hands before handling and after. When I clean the whole enclosure I jump in the shower. But that seems to be with just about everything I do.

Some chameleons aren't good for that kind of handling, but you could time it for when you're going to shower or change the bedding anyway.

My chameleon is fine with it he likes exploring
