We got both of our new cages for the chameleons this week!
Kale has been upgraded from his 65gallon that he was kept in before we got him to a 120 gallon from LLLreptile. He has SO much more space to wander in now. Updated with more vines, foliage, some perches, and a ladder for his basking spot (which has quickly become both chameleons favourites!)
The parts to add him onto the MistKing set up should be here early next week too, quite excited!
Oh, and we also took him into the vet to get his eye looked at, and just check on general health. Doc says he looks good - and that his eye doesn't seem bad and could clear up on it's own. We opted to take home some Baytril, just incase it got worse! She felt around and checked out his burns (he has some really awful ones) to make sure that they healed right and there isn't any other unseen issues, especially since we don't know how/if it was treated at all! But again, all seems good.
We haven't been giving him the Baytril. However we have been giving both of them Reptaid - was recommended for the panther so it was on it's way before we got Kale.
He is very well tempered that one. I wasn't sure about handling him when we first got him. I didn't know how he'd react and he's much bigger than my panther so he's intimidating! (220g compared to 84g) But when we had him out and she was examining him he took it very well - poking prodding and everything! He doesn't really gape, hiss, or bite. He does body slam a little sometimes but that's the worst he gives.. which makes it slightly more difficult to give him medicine - but he's pretty good about that as well.
He seems to be doing well.
I can hope he's at least happier than he was with his previous arrangements.
