Read this article. They found the venom glands using an MRI. The dirty mouth hypothesis is only part of the story. These things have the nasty bacteria, but also venom. Apparently I was incorrect in stating that the venom delivery method was akin to a Gila monster's - instead it just drips directly into the flesh without the use of grooved teeth.

One study suggested that the bacterium, Pasteurella multocida, accounted for much of the saliva's killing power, but the researchers didn't find this lethal bug in all the dragons they looked at
because they used a termaily ill and it wasnt raised in the wild. its not the same. they use cut meat in zoos ect. and a test talking about cash testing it head? they doesnt say anything. if it uses venom or bacteria it still has to bite so talking about it not being able to trash like a croc is just to me disprioveing both! i get what your saying but mutiple things in this seemed odd to me. it could be compleatly right but i dont just belive anything right away. i'll wait till more research is done and whatever is proven multiple times after alot of testing i will trust.

Actually, most animals that are venomous have weaker jaws. They don't need to be able to kill their prey with their jaws as the venom does the heavy lifting for them.
Everyone has the right to their own opinions, but these facts and scientific testing literally spell out the truth. I mean, the venom glands are there, scientists found them on an MRI. You can't say that a Gila Monster isn't venomous even though we have found their venom glands. Same thing with the dragons.
Whether the bacteria is deadly or not is a different story - thsi article makes it hard to argue that dragons lack venom.
Now the question that comes to my mind is what real proof is there that clearly demonstrates that Komodo dragons are NOT venomous?

Good job! lol I was hoping someone was going to mention this! They discovered it may actually be a venom that kills the prey a few years ago...very cool!
