K. Boehmei and K. Ellioti enclosures

T. Ellioti females exo terra

She sits in one spot for ever, never want to move unless she's thirsty.

K. Boehmei males 2 x 2 x 4 screen enclosure
He's small but he uses every inch of that big enclosure!

He's been going around the whole enclosure trying to escape.

The humidity in my room is 60% but the glass cage is about 64%.

That female looks ready to pop! She is a beauty too. She may like more cover along with the male may like more climbing branches. The ellioti arent very active. They are more of a sit and wait for food to come by species than wandering around a lot hunting. The boehmei are very active.

Also, adding the substrate layers like a lot do to the bottom of the exo terra would be good to get that humidity up and you wont have to spray as much in there.

Yah I am defiantly getting more branches for both of the cages. And for the substrate should it be moss?
The female is super fat!

No you would do hydroton, then layers of screen, then dirt and plants..BUT I would wait til they are treated for parasites before doing so, otherwise it could be an ongoing battle in attempt to rid them of any parasites

Thats a very good idea! Didnt think of that.

Hopefully both do well for you. That ellioti is just awesome too. I love them both. Its taking everything I have not to get a few of both. Must save room for xenorhina

I think that would be good so it will in humidity well then having real plants to help more. One problem is wouldn't that make a mud bath in the bottom?

If your going to do anything, moss is cheap and would help with humidity... You could just throw it away after cleaning

I got mine by the way, the male has a crook in his rostral appendage but otherwise in great shape. The female has a small bruise from shipping on her lip, but other than that very healthy and VERY gravid

Sphagnum moss would work. Retains a lot of water that would keep the humidity high. Along with it is easy to add remove and not overly expensive.

I would say just use the exo terra moss they sell in bricks. It would keep the humidity up and its not as much of an undertaking doing the whole planted terrarium deal, I would know! lol Plus, alot of the time when you do it with the soil you will have problems with fungus gnats down the road, but not always. They both look really good, more pics of that boehmei! did you get pairs? please say yes.

I ordered a pair but they sent me the wrong female so I got a male boehmei and female Elliot's but he's shipping me a female boehmei. Idk if he want the Elliot's back though.

Looking better, but more sticks! lol, you should have just got some nice ficus to put in there, great for climbing and they look great when theyre pruned a bit

I was thinking about a umbrella plant because I've had a ficus and I killed it.

Either are good. After you buy all the fake stuff you need you end up spending more money than buying a couple nice plants and collect some sticks from outside! Make sure the basking spot wont burn them if they get that close. Buy a couple rubbermaid containers for those babies that will be here soon!

I know when you only have a cham or two that stuff doesnt matter but when you start getting more and more it saves a ton

Some other things to help save some cash. Get a 4 ft light dual light fixture from lowes or HD. $12 or so bucks. The 18inch uvb bulbs tubes are the same price as a 4ft tube. You could span that over a couple larger tubs or more smaller tubs. I like the smaller ones so you can separate the babies in more groups. Use a bug tape or something around the inside edge to contain the fruit flies if you use them and small crickets can climb the tubs too. Some sticks cut to size to wedge in between the sides of the tubs to keep off the ground and pothos clippings are what I use as furnishings. You can cut a few stems and rotate them from a cup of water and the cage or devise a way to keep the clippings in a cup of water in the bin while not letting the babies be able to get in.

thanks actually all of that helped me i am definitely getting my stuff around for those babies!!! i have got all my temps correct so they dont get burned.
