i have a male juvenile veiled cham he was green hes been a grey color since i got him from fl chams he seems healthy active and eats well but isnt he suppose to be green?

Sounds like the basking spot is too hot. Babies aren't able to thermoregulate as well as adults. Babies are usually kept with a hottest temp of around 82 - 83. He should be green, yes. Showing dark/brown colouration could mean being cold (probably not that in your case as the temp is too hot) or stress. Do you have real plants in the cage for him to hide in? Can you fill in the 'How to Ask For Help' form with the relevant details, then we may be able to help you more with both your cham and the enclosure.

how do i lower the basking temp i have a bunch of branches and fake plants he usually sits under the basking lamp a lot

You should have a digital thermometer with a probe. Put the probe on the branch that is directly under the basking lamp and see what it is. Do not go higher than 90 at 4 months. He is just settling. My guy stayed gray for awhile. He may end up being more turquoise than green.

Mine have all gone from "neonate" green pea to brown, to greyish green, to blackish, striped, etc. It seems like they enjoy changing colors a lot as they grow. Also, when they get ready to shed they turn greyish. Good luck and post pics!
