Juvenile veiled chameleon eating cycle

hey everyone! I'm a new owner of a veiled chameleon and the pet store workers didn't help me out one bit with any of my questions... so he is a juvenile and so that means he has to eat a bit more than an older one I found out. So about how many worms should I feed him and what kind of worms are best? (Pet store told me meal worms are best but I found out that they are definitely not!)

Well, to start. Go to the health clinic section. At the top there are stickies. One says "how to ask for help". Theres a form ready for you to copy and paste with your info filled in. That can help us get you on the right track and I suggest any new keeper doing it.

As for the feeding. A juevenile should get as much as they'll eat early in the day(they need the basking heat to digest food). You're going to want to feed properly gutloaded and dusted crickets and/or roaches as the staple(roughly 80% of the time). The others should be made up of as much variety as you can. Silkworms, hornworms, soldierfly larvae, bottleflies, superworms, etc. You're right about mealworms being no good. I also wouldn't bother with waxworms incase you see them at the store. They are addictive and fatty. Like eating junk food.
