these updates also have a story to them as well, I have been out of town because there was a death in my family and he was accidentally left out doors last night by the person taking care of him while I was away, he is usually housed indoors in the winter, but its been so nice out, he has been able to be housed most of the day outdoors most of this winter with an automisting setup, last night he was left outdoors due to an emergency with temps reaching as low as 45 degrees or something, which I know from experience with chameleons is dangerously close, if not death. Luckily his habitat included a ton of vegetation, and a ton of surrounding trees, that he was able to breeze it through the night, I imagine it was pretty hard on the guy
when I found him on arrival this morning i was soooo upset. I couldn't be mad at anyone though, and immediately focused my attentions on bringing him indoors and getting some heat lamp infra red action, along with a warming mist session in his tree.
when i found him he was sleeping with his head upside down which is unusual he normally sleeps right side up and i was very worried as he was a large investment and obviously a chameleon I care for deeply, he's my friend.
his tail was curled in a strange way and his coloration, was the only good sign!
instead of being the dark stressed color that I've seen him before, he was actually a mellow blueish purple, which let me know he was going to be okay, I brought him inside put him on lights, he was very well fed from yesterday, and after that I noticed my other chameleons were loving the sun coming up(veiled and jackson, and they got nursed too but were all fine) so I took my cham back outside and he immediatley threw his happy colors on.
In looking at this pic you can see the darkness around his eyes, will let you know he had a rough night, but with extra tlc for the next few, they chams will all be fine and I got very lucky. He is normally much lighter and the darkness around his face is more of a baby blue/teal mixed with red
