Jute Vines?

We bought a roll of jute (twine, whatever you want to call it, lol) and braided it together to make a sort of home-made vine for our cham. It's thick enough and sturdy enough to hold his weight, so that's not an issue, but I guess I'm trying to ask if this is ok. I've seen some pics of other cages and I've not seen anything like ropes in them, only fake vines. He seems to like them though. What's your opinion?

ropes are fine for them to climb on, but in the cage they'd get wet so much that they would start to mold. it's best to just use them outside the cage in a free range area.
