Ok, Ive got a male veiled Im gonna guess is about 6 months old. I free range him on my lanai in 2 ficus trees. Hes misted by hand 3 times a day and drinks well with no signs of dehydration. Hes had a good appetite but as of late has slowed a little. I order silk worm pods every 2 weeks and he usually gets 5 or 6 a day plus 3 or 4 dusted crickets(no d3). 4 or 5 supers a week and an occasional wax worm and horn worm round off his diet. My question is that the silk worms i got 2 weeks ago grew so fast and are now the size of a human pinkie. Hes only eating like 2 a day and 2 or 3 crickets. Do they know when they are full? And am I a dumbass 4 worrying?

Pretty soon if not already he's eating will slow down and you will want to start feeding him everyother day. To answer your question; they can over eat. Jann

Thanks Jann. So i dont have anything to be overly concerned about? Where is Ft. pierce by the way and are your guys outside?

If they are that big he may be having trouble with them. My guy seems to know when a cricket is too large and will refuse to eat it. I would let them finish growing and then breed them for more young silkies.

Ft. Pierce is on the east coast of FL north of West Palm Beach. I take my guys outside awhile in the mornings and about an hour in the evenings. It's too hot in the middle of the day.

thanks 4 all the info. Pure I just order as i need. Really dont wanna raise feeders. I have 3 dogs 3 cats 2 ferrets 3 fish tanks 1 salt water reef, and 2 fresh planted tanks. Its alot of work believe me.
