Just saying hello...

I'm Erin and I've been interested in chams for quite awhile. I had a veiled a couple of years ago, but had some money problems and had to give her up. I recently bought a male panther from lll reptiles at NARBC. He died after a month. :( I think he might have been imported and ill when I got him but we couldn't tell. The temps and humidity were good, he was eating and acting fine until the day he died. All of the sudden he just wouldn't hold on to anything and was very lethargic. Anyway, I joined this forum to find out more info about the species, husbandry and handling before I get another. The forum was recommended by someone on another forum (southtexasreptiles.com), so I know I'll get good tips for you guys. Look forward to talking to you all soon! :)

Welcome to the site! All the info you need on chams is here. And your always free to ask questions (As long as you used the search button and didn't find your answer) :D

Welcome to the forum.
Sorry to hear about your loss.
Wild Caught Chameleons often at a very high stress level and carried some disease such as parasites from the get go. Thus, those are best to be cared for by advanced keepers.
I know that lll often carry WC specimens.

Thanks for the welcome(s)! :D

Yeah, I guess I was being naive to think that he wasn't WC because he was so young. I have since heard that lll does import from farms directly to shows, so I'm sure he was imported and probably sick from the get go. Lesson learned, for sure.

Welcome. Hope you get a lot of good info from this forum.
